Gam Gam Ganesha – Madness & Chaos indeed

Anand Devarakonda after two love stories continues to be a jilted lover in his latest release Gam Gam Ganesha. However, it is just one small part of the otherwise heist gone wrong turned thriller trying to be a comedy film. The film claims to be all about comedy, confusion and chaos, and it is all that.

The real hero of the film is the Ganesha idol that is ordered from Mumbai by a politician Kishore Reddy aspiring MLA in Nandyal. The idol is supposed to be carrying 100 crore cash needed to win elections.

Ganesh (Anand Devarakonda) and his friend are petty thieves. The plot takes a turn when Ganesha in order to become rich robs a diamond and after a few more reels of drama gets involved with the same Ganesha idol.

The rest of the film is like a comedy of errors of sorts with Rudra (a goon assigned to retrieve the money) and Ganesh trying to get their hands on the idol.

The film Gam Gam Ganesha is supposed to be a story on greed, fear and deception- in turn it becomes a hotchpotch of too many elements, characters and storylines ending with a chaotic action sequence, which is perhaps the intention.

Anand Devarakonda ‘s Gam Gam Ganesha has its moments of madness, fun, thrill, excitement but fails short of stitching them well – so it ends up with a bunch of gaps that don’t bode well with final product – references to Jack Sparrow not withstanding.

After two promising films Anand’s attempt at a new genre doesn’t leave you with much when you leave the theatre.

Written & directed by Uday Shetty, it has music composed by Chaitan Bharadwaj. His BGM left much wanting. Stunts and chase sequences are shot well. Karthika Srinivas R is the editor of the film. The film is co produced by Anurag Paravatheneni. The film also stars, Karisma, Vennela Kishore, Jabardast Emmanuel and others in key roles.
