The Sri Lankan Food Festival is set to celebrate the rich and diverse flavors of the tropical island nation. Hosted at Radisson Blu Plaza, Banjara Hills, this culinary extravaganza features guest chef Devinda Wijeratne from Radisson Kandy, Sri Lanka. Launched on May 31st the food ptomption will go on till June 9th, 2024, during Chill Restaurant & Terrace’s dinner buffet, offering guests a delightful journey through the country’s culinary heritage.

Sri Lankan cuisine is a vibrant tapestry of flavors, blending influences from South Indian, Malay, Portuguese, Dutch, and British culinary traditions. The food is renowned for its bold spices, fragrant aromas, and harmonious balance of ingredients. Staple dishes like rice and curry, enriched with coconut milk, chilies, and a plethora of spices, epitomize the island’s culinary identity. This festival offers a unique opportunity to savor these authentic flavors and understand their cultural significance.

Event Overview

The festival at Radisson Blu features a variety of Sri Lankan dishes like hot hoppers, kotthu, sambal, and the delectable watalappam. Chef Wijeratne set up live cooking stations, allowing guests to witness the magic behind these traditional dishes. The menu is thoughtfully curated, featuring appetizers like fish cutlets, traditional fish curry with appam, and festive dishes such as rice cooked in coconut milk and spices.

The ambiance at Chill Restaurant & Terrace will be transformed with Sri Lankan-inspired decor. Vibrant colors, traditional motifs, and tropical elements will create an immersive experience, transporting guests to the island nation. The recorded Sri Lankan music playing in the background further enhances the atmosphere.
