Lenskart breaks ground on its upcoming state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Hyderabad, Telangana. The initial phase will unfold progressively over the next few years.
Lenskart, one of Asia’s leading eyewear companies, has officially commenced work on its new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Hyderabad. The company held the ground-breaking ceremony on 6th March, marking a major step in its commitment to delivering high-quality eyewear globally. The ceremony was attended by D. Sridhar Babu, Honorable Minister for Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, Industries & Commerce, and Legislative Affairs of Telangana.
The facility results from a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed last year between Lenskart and the Government of Telangana. The first phase of the investment will span several years, setting the stage for commercial operations. The facility is designed to have a high degree of automation, ensuring strict adherence to quality standards within Lenskart’s efficient supply chain network.

Poor vision is a significant global issue, with more than half of India’s population suffering from refractive errors. However, most affected individuals lack access to affordable, quality eyewear due to low awareness and limited availability. This creates a substantial market opportunity for the eyewear industry in India and other countries, which Lenskart aims to address with its new facility.
The Hyderabad manufacturing plant is set to be an integrated facility, similar to Lenskart’s existing unit in Bhiwadi. It will have capabilities across all aspects of eyewear manufacturing, including frame, lens, and eyewear production. This expansion will strengthen Lenskart’s manufacturing capacity and enable it to serve both domestic and international markets, including Asia and the Middle East.
