For the occasion the contemporary setting of the buzzing resto bar transformed as the space was decked with traditional décor. As the guests sat down to savour an array of delectable regional dishes prepared by top chefs of Hyderabad, it was indeed a major shift from the regular work day at Akan Hyderabad. The enchanting melodies of a live sitar performance by the acclaimed Swayam Siddha elevated the experience. The afternoon of culinary delight and cultural enrichment was not just a feast for the senses but served as a chance to contribute to a cause that truly matters.

“As the spirit of Independence Day beckons us to reflect on freedom and unity, the team at Akan felt a deep-seated desire to give back in a meaningful way. Reflecting on six months of creating beautiful memories and hosting successful events, we sought to honour our journey and the community that has supported us. Just as trees do not consume their own fruit and rivers do not drink their own water, we believe that our purpose extends beyond ourselves—to uplift others selflessly, embodying the true essence of humanity. It is with this ethos that we proudly introduce Akan Aahvaanam,” shared Nageshwar Reddy Gurrala.

Akan Aahvaanam is a platform that brings together chefs, artists, and patrons to create unique dining experiences for a charitable cause.

“Every rupee raised will support the Extramile Foundation, an organisation dedicated to providing critical aid to premature babies in NICU units within underprivileged families. By participating, each of our guests helped to make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need. We plan to do more such events in the future,” shared Nihal Reddy Gurrala.
