Apraava’s all-women team operates the 100 MW Veltoor solar plant in Telangana, driving gender diversity and clean energy growth.
In a pioneering move to advance Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), Apraava Energy has proudly launched an all-women team to manage the morning shift operations at its 100MW Veltoor solar plant in Telangana. This groundbreaking initiative is one of the first of its kind in India and reinforces Apraava’s commitment to gender diversity in the energy sector.
The all-women team, which began managing the plant’s operations last year, consists of four highly skilled engineers Dudimetla Tejaswini, Anusha Rudramuni, Indhusree Rudramuni, and Koretha Suguna each with a background in electrical and electronics engineering. They joined the Veltoor solar plant through Apraava’s partner, Param Renewable Energy, and have since played an integral role in ensuring the plant’s efficient performance. The team’s contributions have been crucial in driving India’s transition to cleaner, renewable energy.

In addition to the four engineers, two women engineers from Apraava, Jhaswini Kumari P and Mani Deepthi Meda, also oversee the solar plant’s operations. Together, these women set an inspiring example of excellence and collaboration in the energy industry.
“This all-women team is a powerful representation of Apraava’s dedication to fostering a culture of inclusion, respect, and equal opportunity,” said Deepa Sebastian, Senior Vice President – HR at Apraava Energy. “On International Women’s Day, we reaffirm our commitment to advancing DEI and empowering women to thrive, excel, and lead in the renewable energy sector.”
Apraava Energy also offers a robust development program to support its team, providing mentorship and technical training. This ensures that women in the energy sector not only gain hands-on experience but also develop the leadership skills needed to take on critical roles.

Indhusree Rudramuni, who works in tracker restoration at the plant, shared her experience: “This is my first time working at a solar plant, and it has been an enriching experience. The opportunity to acquire new skills has been a significant step in my career growth within the renewable energy sector.”
Apraava’s all-women team is a powerful step toward normalizing women’s participation in traditionally male-dominated industries, paving the way for more women to pursue careers in clean energy and engineering. With continued support, the company is confident that these engineers will not only excel but also grow into future leaders in the energy sector.
