Sussanne Khan And Gauri Khan Collaboration
In a recent conversation about her latest project, Khan shared the inspiration behind her collaboration with long-time friend and designer Sussanne Khan for a new store in Hyderabad. The store will feature a curated selection of Gauri Khan Designs products, including bespoke furniture, home décor, and art. “Sussanne and I have always loved design,” says Gauri. “We noticed a gap in the Indian market where world-class accessories and luxury furniture were hard to access. With Gauri Khan Designs, we aimed to bridge that gap and bring traditional Indian craftsmanship to a broader audience.”
Hyderabad’s refined aesthetic complements Gauri’s vision, with an entire floor of the store dedicated to showcasing signature collections. Gauri stresses that her design philosophy extends beyond visual appeal. It’s about creating spaces that are both functional and beautiful. “Good design should be aesthetically pleasing and practical,” she explains.
Looking back on her illustrious career, Gauri attributes much of her creative success to a deep appreciation for history, art, and architecture. Her work is inspired by her travels to global design hubs like Paris and Milan, as well as her engagement with social media and design publications. However, she remains focused on creating timeless pieces that resonate with clients for years to come.
The upcoming Delhi Experience Centre, an invitation-only space, will offer an immersive look into Gauri’s design philosophy. “It’s about creating a cohesive, welcoming space that showcases luxury with a personal touch,” she says. With the new Hyderabad store and the Delhi Centre, Gauri’s design empire is poised to make an even greater impact on India’s luxury design landscape.
