It would be hard to believe that a few years ago popular composer MM Keeravaani considered giving up his career in films and retire for good. Surprisingly, the thought of bidding goodbye coincided with his resurgence in the industry, eventually helping him grab the coveted Academy Award (alongside lyricist Chandrabose) for RRR’s dance number Naatu Naatu last year.
The success of films like Baahubali and RRR have opened newer doors for the star composer. While he’s been selective yet active in Telugu, he returned to Tamil cinema with Chandramukhi 2 last year and is on board for the sequel to producer Kunjumon’s Gentleman 2 too. Now the veteran is on board for a Hindi film, where he joins hands with Anupam Kher.
Anupam Kher, who made his directorial debut with the box office dud Om Jai Jagdish many years ago, is now wielding the megaphone again for Tanvi The Great. The filming of the project has already begun and the actor is bankrolling it as well, under his home banner Anupam Kher Studio. The news of Anupam Kher and MM Keeravaani’s collaboration was officially announced today.
In an image shared by noted trade analyst Taran Adarsh, MM Keeravaani and Anupam Kher are all smiles. MM Keeravaani, better known as MM Kreem in Hindi film circles, has worked on several popular projects in Mumbai in the past, including Criminal, Jism, Paheli, Special Chabbis and Baby. He’s also composing the music for Chiranjeevi’s Vishwambhara, SSMB 29 (directed by SS Rajamouli).
