Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad raises entry and service fees starting March 1, 2025. Check out the new rates for tickets and rides.

Visitors to Hyderabad’s popular Nehru Zoological Park will face significantly higher entry and service fees starting March 1, 2025. The Telangana government (TG) has approved a price hike across various services, making the zoo experience more expensive for families and tourists alike.

Under the new pricing structure, entry fees have increased for both adults and children. The adult entry fee on weekdays will rise from Rs.70 and Rs.80 to a uniform Rs.100. Similarly, the fee for children will be Rs.50, up from the previous Rs.45 and Rs.55.

For those looking to explore the zoo’s animal enclosures, the cost of visiting the fish aquarium has doubled from Rs.10 to Rs.20. Safari park rides are also seeing a significant price increase, with AC vehicle rides jumping from Rs.120 to Rs.150 and non-AC vehicle rides from Rs.80 to Rs.100. The beloved toy train ride will now cost Rs.80 for adults up from Rs.45 and Rs.40 for children up from Rs.25.

Photography enthusiasts will also feel the pinch, as still camera fees rise from Rs.120 to Rs.150, while video camera fees have skyrocketed from Rs.600 to Rs.2,500. Commercial film shoots will now be charged Rs.10,000.

In terms of transportation, battery-operated vehicle rates will increase as well, with adult fares going from Rs.95 and Rs.110 on weekends to a flat Rs.120. Child fares remain unchanged at Rs.70 on weekends but have increased from Rs.60.

Parking charges have been revised too. Cyclists will pay Rs.10, bikers Rs.30, auto-rickshaw drivers Rs.80, car owners Rs.100, and tempo drivers Rs.150.

This uniform pricing system, approved by the Zoos and Parks Authority of Telangana, eliminates the distinction between weekday and weekend prices. While the hike may help with zoo maintenance and operations, it raises concerns about its impact on visitor turnout, especially for families on a budget. Time will reveal whether the increased fees lead to a drop in attendance or if the zoo continues to draw large crowds despite the costlier experience.
