The British Residency, at King Koti, came alive on Sunday evening with a mesmerizing dance performance that captivated the audience’s hearts and minds. Paramparaa Foundation presented a spellbinding performance by Rudrakshya Foundation, followed by an extraordinary piece by Lasyakalpa Ensemble, making it an unparalleled experience for the residents of Hyderabad.
Odissi Style by Rudrakshya Foundation
Internationally acclaimed performer, choreographer, educator, and founder Rudraksha Foundation Guri Bichitrananda Swain’s disciples showcased the vibrant energy and thought-provoking narratives of Odissi style in three captivating performances. From the symbolic exploration of human anatomy through the seven chakras of Tantrism in “Shadadhara Panka” to the magical depiction of life’s essence in “Hamsakalyani,” and the profound representation of divine unity in “Kalikrushna,” the audience was transported into a realm of artistic enlightenment.
Kuchipudi Splendor by Lasyakalpa Ensemble
Following this breathtaking display, Guru D S V Sastry and his disciples from Lasyakala took the stage to present the iconic Kuchipudi dance style, a proud emblem of Telugu heritage and culture. Renowned for his mastery in both Kuchipudi theatrical music and dance, DSV Sastry, alongside principal dancers Katyayani Kanak, Kiranmayee Madupu, Anusha Srinivas, PB Vaishnavi, and Dheera Sameera, showcased their unparalleled talent and expertise.

Set against the majestic backdrop of the Darbar Hall, the grandeur of the venue was further accentuated by the sight of massive marble stairs leading to the stage, serving as a visual ode to the rich culture and heritage of the city. Tall opulent pillars, flanked by majestic lions, and the lush green landscape surrounding the entrance, added an air of elegance to the entire recital.
