Ooru Peru Bhairavakona trailer promises a taut, visually spectacular supernatural thriller
Sundeep Kishan, who awaits the Telugu release of Captain Miller later this month, is also gearing up for Ooru Peru Bhairavakona, a supernatural thriller, where he reunites with ‘Tiger’ filmmaker Vi Anand. Kavya Thapar, Varsha Bollamma play the female leads in the film produced by Razesh Danda under Hasya Movies and presented by Anil Sunkara under AK Entertainments.
The trailer of the film was launched this Thursday at AMB Cinemas, Hyderabad in the presence of cast, crew, media and several fans. The glimpse is largely a thematic extension of what the makers have already established through the teaser. The story is set in Bhairavakona, a fictitious village that finds a mention in the sacred text Garuda Puranam.
The four pages that refer to Bhairavakona is missing from the text while a voiceover suggests not even the almighty can stop destiny from taking its own course. The first and final shots of the trailer indicate that the story revolves around Sundeep Kishan’s battle for his loved one (played by Varsha), showcasing several roadblocks he faces in his journey.
VI Anand succeeds in establishing a mythical backdrop where the protagonist needs to confront several evil forces while he fights for his lady love and the larger good of the village. The fantasy tale is mounted beautifully on a lavish canvas – the technical finesse, especially across the production design, costumes and cinematography, contribute to its appeal.
Ooru Peru Bhairavakona releases in theatres on February 9, locking horns with films like Eagle and Yatra 2 in the same weekend. Sundeep Kishan is also part of D50, a rural drama directed by Dhanush, which wrapped its shoot recently. Kavya Thapar, who stars in the film, is also a female lead in Ravi Teja’s Eagle.
