The SHIELD 2025 Cybersecurity Conclave a two-day event held in Hyderabad, brings together 900+ experts to tackle the rising threat of cybercrime. Hosted by the Telangana government, this event features groundbreaking discussions on digital security, AI-driven threats, and child protection in cyberspace.

The SHIELD 2025 Cybersecurity Conclave, a two-day event, kicked off at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) in Madhapur, marking a milestone in India’s battle against cybercrime. With cybersecurity becoming an ever-growing priority in a digital-first world, the conclave has brought together over 900 experts, including law enforcement, industry leaders, academic researchers, and government agencies, to address critical issues in securing cyberspace.

The inauguration of the conclave was graced by CM A. Revanth Reddy, and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu, alongside other dignitaries, including Ravi Guptha, Special Chief Secretary to the Government of Telangana – Home Department, Dr. Jitender DGP Telangana, and Shikha Goel Director of Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB).

In his address, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy stressed Telangana’s commitment to becoming India’s cybersecurity leader, highlighting the growing threat posed by cybercrime. “India lost over Rs 22,000 crore to cyber fraud last year, and the rise in cybercrimes is a serious challenge to our economy. My government is dedicated to building a robust cybersecurity infrastructure, with initiatives such as the 24×7 Cyber Security Bureau and a dedicated Cyber Crime Helpline, 1930,”.

Revanth Reddy also emphasized the need for proactive measures in combating cybercrime, pointing out that unlike traditional crimes, cybercrimes can be committed remotely from anywhere in the world. “It is crucial for law enforcement and stakeholders to work as a unified force in preventing these crimes,”.

Minister D. Sridhar Babu underscored the global scale of cybercrime, with the world losing a staggering $10 trillion to cyberattacks last year. He shared Telangana’s plans to launch a new Cybersecurity and Digital Security Policy aligned with digital privacy and security, which would further strengthen the state’s defenses against cyber threats. He also highlighted the state’s partnerships with institutions like Google and plans for a Cyber Defence Center to enhance cybersecurity measures.

The Chief Minister virtually launched several pioneering initiatives, including the Cyber Fusion Centre (CFC), Child Protection Unit (CPU), and the Security Operations Centre (SOC), aimed at improving proactive threat prevention and safeguarding vulnerable populations online.

Over the next two days, the conclave will host 40 expert speakers, 15 sessions, 10 panels, and 5 workshops focusing on a range of cybersecurity topics, including ransomware, AI-driven threats, and child online safety. The conclave has also partnered with renowned institutions like ISB, IIT Hyderabad, and NALSAR University to strengthen cybersecurity research and innovation.

Highlights of the event:
The Technology Experience Zone, which features next-gen cybersecurity tools such as AI-powered malware protection, advanced encryption, and digital forensic tools. Delegates will also experience live simulations of cyberattacks and defense strategies, offering hands-on engagement with cutting-edge technologies.

The conclave has been organized by the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau, Telangana Police, and the Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC), with support from Tanla and India Child Protection. The event marks a significant step forward in Telangana’s mission to become a cybersecurity leader, not only within India but globally.
