Mondays are allegedly boring for most people. But that was not the case on April 11th, 2023, when Royal Challengers Banglore(RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) made sure their fans enjoyed every bit of their Monday evening. The Best combination other than Kohli, Maxi, and Faf – 404, not found! LSG delivers a massive comeback with a twist. It was not a thriller match. It was a roller coaster ride of emotions.
IPL2023 witnessed a power-packed 15th match between Royal Challengers Banglore(RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). What a match – The match gained the highest viewership of 1.8 crores! The game started with a magnificent performance from King Virat Kohli. He scored a beautiful half-century. The score graph took a dramatic uphill when Glenn Maxwell came onto the pitch. The duo, Glenn Maxwell and the captain Faf Du Plessis played a thrilling knock. This pair scored 15 back-to-back maximums in the first half of the match. Their knock gave such an adrenaline surge to the fans at Chinnaswamy Stadium. It’s the first time to witness the top 3 players of RCB score a half-century.
The photographer had captured a top-notch clip of an eagle flying into the ground to hunt its prey. This slow-motion clip was a treat to watch.
The second innings of the match had started in favor of RCB. Markus Stoinis had played a brilliant knock and scored a half-century. However, Karn Sharma dismissed him later. Nicholas Pooran had entered the ground as a pre-climax twist to RCB. He bashed the balls away to maximums. His magnificent strike had put him at the top of the ‘fastest 50’s table. The chase in the death overs was a nail biting knock from Jayadev Undakat and Ayush Badoni. The last two overs were chaos, with wickets falling, failed Mankading attempt, and a close call for a super over.
What a match it had been – a thriller in fact. The KGF trio(Kohli, Glenn, Faf) has set an ‘Everest’ target. RCB almost had it until LSG’s best batters came along. Markus Stoinis, Nicholas Pooran, and impact player Ayush Badoni said, “Not yet!” Yet another nail-biter in IPL 2023. That was just the beginning of the biggest entertainer of the year.
