Whisky Sour Recipes shared by Beam Suntory, a premium spirits company to celebrate National Whisky Sour Day with innovative Whisky-based cocktails using Toki and Jim Beam.
Officially dating back to the 1860s, the history of Whiskey Sour goes back in time. It was a drink that sailors in the British Navy had been drinking on long sea journeys. One because the water was scarce and two – in order to combat diseases lemon or limey as it was called was considered good and hence was used in the Whisky Sour Recipes.
Whisky Sour
Ingredients
- Suntory Whisky Toki – 60ml
- Lemon Juice – 22.5ml
- Sugar Syrup (1:1) – 22.5ml
- Egg white – 1
- Angostura Aromatic Bitters
- Ice
Method:
Add the ingredients except for the whisky into a shaker and ‘dry shake’ to emulsify the drink. Now add the whisky, ice, and shake well until frothy. Pour into a chilled coupe through a strainer.
Glassware: Chilled Coupe
Garnish: Mist of Angostura Aromatic Bitters
The New York Sour – Jim Beam Red Wine Orange
Ingredients Required:
- Jim Beam 50ml
- Red Wine to Float 20ml
- Orange Juice 30ml
- Sugar Syrup 20ml
- Lemon Juice 20ml
- Ice
Method: Shake and Strain. For a little more depth, float red wine on the drink at the end.
Glassware: Rocks Glass

Double Oak Whisky Smash
From brunches and lunches to backyard barbecues and garden parties, this breezy, whiskey smash cocktail is full of toffee-caramel flavor and oaky vanilla notes, with a hint of bright citrus acidity. It pairs well with warm summer nights and just about anything you can throw on the grill.
Ingredients Required:
- 2 parts Jim Beam® Double Oak
- Half of 1 Lemon
- 1 tablespoon Sugar, Granulated
- 7-8 leaves Mint, Fresh
- 1 cup Ice, Crushed
Method: Place the mint, lemon, and sugar in a cocktail shaker. Muddle together until the sugar has dissolved and the lemon has expressed its juices. Add the whiskey, cover, and shake for 30 seconds. Transfer mixture to an Old Fashioned glass. Top with crushed ice and garnish with a sprig of mint.

Jim Beam Bourbon Sour
Ingredients
- 2 parts Jim Beam Bourbon
- 1 part Lemon Juice
- 0.5 parts Lemon Lime Soda
- 0.50 Teaspoon Sugar
- Lemon wedge and cherry
Method: Mix Jim Beam with lemon juice, sugar, and ice in a shaker. Shake vigorously and strain into whiskey sour glass. Garnish with lemon wedge and cherry
